10-T FARMS is located in Southeast Nebraska, just north of Lincoln. Specializing in raising Registered Angus cattle and crops. The original Angus herd was started by Thomas E. Tvrdy and his eight children.
TONY TVRDY is the current owner and manager of this purebred cattle operation. He took over in 1990 and has used artificial insemination and embryo transfer to hasten improvement within the herd. OUR PHILOSOPHY is driven by functional cattle that perform in a low-cost, low-input environment. In the fall the cows are placed on corn stalks and protein tubs until they are taken home to calve. The cattle are fed Alfalfa, grass hay and DDG's until they are transferred to Brome pastures in mid to late April. OUR TARGET CALVING PERIOD starts mid-January and extends for 60 days. Our own bulls are used to cover any cows that have not settled to A.I. Calves are weaned in mid-September to prepare bull calves for various tests. |
